- TVS Ronin 225 launching today
- First-ever scrambler from TVS
- Based on the Zepellin concept
TVS Motor Company is all set to launch its first-ever scrambler, the Ronin 225, in India today. The motorcycle will be based on the Apache RTR 200 4V, but with a host of changes.
As revealed by the leaked pictures of the Ronin, it boasts a neo-retro design with a round headlamp, a curvy fuel tank, an offset instrument cluster, a single-piece seat, chopped fenders, and premium golden upside-down forks up front. Further, the motorcycle is expected to be loaded with features like full-LED lighting, colour TFT console, riding modes, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The engine of the Ronin is likely to be a 223cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled unit which is a revised version of the Apache 200's mill. The power and torque output numbers of this motor aren't known yet. Likewise, the chassis could also be a reworked version of the Apache's frame which is suspended by USDs and a monoshock. The picture of the bike has also revealed that it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and is shod with block-pattern tyres.
The pricing of the TVS Ronin 225 will probably be higher than the Apache RTR 200 4V that starts from Rs 1.34 lakh ex-showroom. Considering its body style and displacement, the closest that comes to competing with the Ronin is the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
