- Yamaha launched the new Fascino 125 in India
- Pricing starts at Rs 66,430
- Powered by a new 125cc fuel-injected motor
Yamaha Motor India has finally stepped into the 125cc scooter segment by launching the new Fascino 125 today. It is the higher displacement version of the Fascino 110 which is already on sale in India. The company has introduced four variants of the Fascino 125 including STD Drum, STD Disc, DLX Drum and DLX Disc which are priced at Rs 66,430, Rs 68,930, Rs 67,430 and Rs 69,930, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The available colour options include Suave Copper, Dark Matte Blue, Cyan Blue and Metallic Black for disc and drum variants along with Vivid Red and Yellow Cocktail for disc brake trim.
Powering the scooter is Yamaha’s new Blue Core 125cc, fuel-injected motor which is BS6 compliant and churns out 8bhp of power and 9.7Nm of torque. This is 30 per cent higher than the 110cc version of the Fascino. What’s more, Yamaha claims a mileage of 58kmpl which is 16 per cent higher than its smaller sibling. Similar to the new BS6 Honda Activa 125, the Fascino 125 also gets silent start feature.
Yamaha has also equipped the Fascino 125 with a host of new features which keep it a notch higher than its 110cc version. It gets a larger 21litre underseat storage compartment, a wider seat, multi-function key fob with seat opener and a side stand engine cut-off switch. Interestingly, despite packing a higher displacement motor, it is 4kgs lighter than the Fascino 110 which is thanks to the lighter frame and wheels.
In terms of design, the new Fascino boasts of curvier body panels which make it look jazzier than the Fascino 110. It also gets chrome accents on various parts of its body panels such as front apron and under cowl which adds a bit of bling to the styling. As for the cycle parts, damping duties are handled by telescopic and monoshock suspension while the braking hardware is assisted by Unified Braking setup which is Yamaha’s version of combined braking system.
The new Yamaha Fascino 125 competes against the Honda Activa 125 Fi which is yet another BS6 model in the 125cc scooter segment.
