- New Yamaha Fascino spotted testing in India
- Features a majorly redesigned bodywork
- Gets changes on the cycle parts and engine
Yamaha Motor India is gearing up to launch the updated version of its 110cc scooter, the Fascino, as it was recently spotted testing on the Indian roads. The spy pictures reveal that the scooter has received changes to its styling along with tweaked hardware and engine.
The Fascino follows a retro design theme with curvy body panels along with chrome accents. On the updated model, the scooter gets larger and smoother flowing panels with a redesigned tail lamp and pillion grab rail. A closer inspection also reveals a longer and roomier seat. Although the front section is not visible in the spy shots, going by the current trend, expect it to be equipped with LED headlamps.
Coming to the changes on the hardware front, the spied scooter was sporting alloy wheels, as opposed to the steel wheels on the current model. It also had a larger 12-inch front wheel as against the existing combination of 10-10-inch units. Although it was equipped with drum brakes at both ends, we expect Yamaha to offer front disc as an option, which is currently not available on the Fascino.
Yet another major revision is on the engine which apparently has a reworked CVT gearbox. This will perhaps be a BS-VI-compliant motor with a fuel-injected setup. Moreover, the power figures may also go slightly down following the changes required to obtain cleaner emissions. Currently, the Fascino is powered by a 113cc, carbureted motor which churns out 7bhp and 8.1Nm.
Considering the aforementioned changes, expect the new Yamaha Fascino to carry a premium of around Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 over the existing model. As of now, the standard and Darknight versions of the scooter are priced at Rs 56,023 and Rs 57,523, respectively. As for the launch of the new Fascino, expect it to be introduced at the upcoming Auto Expo in February.
