- Yamaha FZ X India launch tomorrow
- To get XSR 155-inspired styling
- Pre-bookings commenced at select dealerships
Yamaha is scheduled to take the wraps off the new FZ X in India tomorrow, 18 June. Pre-bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced at select dealerships but there is no word about its pricing yet. Although, we expect it to demand a slight premium over the FZ series that is priced at Rs 1.11 lakh for the top-end variant.
Now, the FZ X is based on the FZS V3 but with a styling that has been inspired by the XSR 155. It gets a round, full-LED headlamp, high-set handlebar, an aluminum strip running across the relatively boxy fuel tank, and a single-piece seat with retro-style grab rail. Moreover, it rides on dual-purpose tyres and is likely to be introduced in three colours- black, blue and orange.
And thanks to a leaked document, we know that the upcoming FZ X will share its 149cc engine with the FZ series. This air-cooled, single-cylinder motor is capable of churning out 12.2bhp. While the dimensions are slightly different compared to the FZS V3, the hardware is likely to be similar with telescopic forks and a monoshock for suspension duties. Whereas braking would be done by a disc brake at both ends with ABS as standard.
