- Yamaha FZ X bookings commence in India
- Booking amount is up to Rs 10,000
- Official launch could take place on 18 June, 2021
Select Yamaha dealers in India have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming Yamaha FZ X neo-retro motorcycle. The booking amount varies from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the dealer. As we have already reported, Yamaha is likely to launch the new FZ X on 18 June, 2021.
Mechanically, the FZ X will certainly be based on the existing FZ S FI. However, it boasts a modern-retro styling, majorly inspired by the XSR155 that’s available in the international markets. As revealed by the spy shots, it features a circular LED headlamp, a single-pod console, a raised handlebar, a rounded fuel tank, and a minimalistic tail section. Similar to the bike it is based on, the FZ X might come in two cosmetically different variants.
If it borrows the FZ FI’s powerplant in its existing state of tune, then the FZ X will churn out 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm from its 149cc, air-cooled engine with a five-speed gearbox. Other components visible in the images include 17-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, a monoshock and a single disc brake at both ends. Yamaha might have tweaked the chassis at the rear to accommodate the new tail section.
The top-end Vintage edition of the existing Yamaha FZ S FI is priced at Rs 1,11,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). And the FZ X is expected to be more expensive by around Rs 5,000-7,000.
