Yamaha Motor India has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the new FZ-X. The new member of the FZ family is available in two variants with prices starting from Rs 1,16,800 onwards. We have already brought you the first ride impressions of the new Yamaha FZ-X. In this article, we bring you the best images from the first ride review of the FZ-X.
The new Yamaha FZ-X packs a neo-modern retro design along with a few styling elements that give it rugged look. These include dual-purpose tyres and fork gaiters.
The front of the motorcycle features a round, projector-style headlight with LED DRLs. At the back, the FZ-X gets an LED taillight while the turn indicators are conventional units. However, buyers can opt for LED indicators via optional accessories. The feature list on the FZ-X also includes a 12V charging socket.
The FZ-X gets a metal fuel tank with plastic cladding on the top and an asymmetrically-mounted filler cap, a steel front fender, a single-piece seat, and alloy wheels.
The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit. The two-wheeler maker offers two variants of the motorcycle – Standard and Bluetooth. The latter features a Bluetooth-connectivity function that works with Yamaha’s Y-Connect smartphone application and offers access to functions such as call alerts, SMS and email notifications, and phone battery level.
The new Yamaha FZ-X will be available in three colours – Matte Copper, Matte Black, and Metallic Blue. The seat height is 810mm tall, which should make it accessible to a wider audience. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 139kg (kerb).
The FZ-X shares its engine and cycle parts with the FZ series. The mechanical specifications on the motorcycle include a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 12.2bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties are performed by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a seven-step preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back. The braking tasks are handled by a single 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm rotor at the back. The safety net is provided by a single-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
