- Yamaha FZ-X to be launched on 18 June, 2021
- Likely to carry a price premium over the FZ FI series
- Gets an XSR inspired styling
India Yamaha Motors will soon update its product portfolio with the launch of the new FZ-X in our market this week. The unofficial bookings for the FZ-X have already commenced, and the deliveries of the motorcycle are likely to commence soon after the launch. This new model from Yamaha will be based on the FZ series, although it will pack a different design that is inspired by the XSR series. The prices would be available on 18 June, 2021. We expect the new FZ-X to carry a marginal price premium over the FZ FI series that is available from Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
The new Yamaha FZ-X would pack styling cues such as a round LED headlamp, aluminium-finished brackets, a tall-set handlebar, and a boxy fuel tank. Spy images have confirmed that the motorcycle will be available in at least three colour options – orange, blue, and black.
The details about the complete mechanical specifications are limited yet; although a leaked document has confirmed that the upcoming FZ-X would use a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that will produce 12.2bhp. The hardware will be similar to the existing FZ series, and the upcoming FZ-X will use telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension duties. The anchoring tasks would be handled by disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net should include a single-channel ABS.
