- Yamaha updates MT-03 for 2022
- Comes with new colour
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has taken the wraps off the 2022 MT-03 for international markets. And for the new model year, it gets some cosmetic changes and a cleaner engine.
To begin with, the 2022 Yamaha MT-03 gets a new colour scheme called Cyan Storm. This colour scheme has been inspired by the bigger MT-07 and MT-10 and sports a greyish paint with cyan and red highlights. Moreover, the motorcycle also gets cyan coloured wheels to complete the look. Now, Yamaha is offering this new paint scheme alongside the Icon Blue and Midnight Black colours while the Ice Fluo colour has been discontinued.
Besides the cosmetic update, the 2022 Yamaha MT-03 also gets a cleaner, Euro 5-compliant engine that continues to produce 42bhp and 29.6Nm. However, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same. It gets full-LED lighting an LCD instrument cluster. As for its underpinnings, the MT-03 rides on a 37mm inverted front fork and a monoshock at the rear with braking taken care of by a 298mm disc and 220mm disc with dual-channel ABS. That said, the 2022 Yamaha MT-03 is light at 168kg and sports a 14-litre fuel tank.
The motorcycle will make its way to international markets soon but is unlikely to be launched in India wherein Yamaha focuses on its 150-250cc two-wheelers.
