The newly launched Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 has started to arrive at dealerships in India. This new version of the YZF-R15 based naked roadster was launched in our market at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.60 lakh. In comparison, the old model was available at Rs 1.46 lakh. For that premium price tag, the new version gets more features, improved hardware and additional colour options.
The colour palette retains two options from the previous version and gets two additional choices. These include Cyan Storm (new), Racing Blue (new), Ice Fluo-Vermillion, and Metallic Black. All paint options come with matching colours for the alloy wheels.
Further, the updated feature list comprises the addition of Bluetooth connectivity that works with the Y-Connect smartphone application. However, unlike the YZF-R15 V4.0, the new Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 misses dual-channel ABS and traction control system. The 2022 model also benefits from upside-down front forks and a MotoGP inspired aluminium swingarm.
The mechanical specifications retain the BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor makes 18.2bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.
All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi
