Yamaha recently launched the R15 V4 in India, before anywhere else across the globe. The new version comes with vital updates along with a few fancy ones. So here we tell you all details you need to know about the Yamaha R15 V4 through this image gallery.
The first thing to notice on the new R15 is the refreshed styling. Yamaha has taken styling elements from the R7 and molded them into the R15 V4. So it gets a sharper front end with a LED projector at the center flanked by DRLs.
Even the fairing has now become more aggressive and seemingly more aerodynamic than before. While not immediately noticeable, the R15 V4 also gets a slightly different rear section and exhaust canister.
The other highlight of the new Yamaha R15 is the updated feature list. It gets a fresh layout for the instrument cluster that has been fitted with a Bluetooth module. There also is dual-channel ABS. However, the standout feature is the addition of the traction control system and the quick shifter on the R15 M.
Now, the standard R15 is priced at Rs 1.68 lakh for the Metallic Red, Rs 1.69 lakh for the Dark Knight, and Rs 1.73 for the Racing Blue colour scheme. Meanwhile, the R15 M is offered in two colours- silver/blue and a MotoGP livery that are priced at Rs 1.78 lakh and Rs 1.80 lakh each. That’s not all, Yamaha has also equipped the R15 V4 with upside-down
forks with golden-finished fork bottles instead of the conventional units on the previous bike. Although, the rear continues with a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is done by a 282mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear.
Yamaha has not touched the engine on the R15 V4 and it continues to come powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVA tech. It churns out 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm.
As for competition, the R15 V4 goes up against the KTM RC 200 that is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh, ex-showroom. Although, with the new version expected to be launched soon, that price would also be bumped up.
