- New YZF R15M Carbon Edition showcased
- Equipped with faux carbon-fibre finish
- India launch soon
Yamaha has decided to join the carbon-fibre bandwagon. The brand has unveiled the R15M Carbon Edition at the ongoing 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo.
From the pictures, it is clear that this new R15M looks stunning. The Japanese brand has used a faux carbon-fibre finish all over the motorcycle. The entire front fairing gets the carbon-fibre treatment and over that, a gloss finish is done. Even the tail section of the R15M is dipped in this treatment. Interestingly, the Japanese brand also decided to give the seats a special look. It gets a rough texture – done to replicate the carbon-fibre finish.
Mechanically, the R15M remains unchanged. It continues to get power from a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and comes packed in a Deltabox frame suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock. The 282mm front disc and the 220mm rear unit, mounted on 17-inch alloys, remain unaltered. The bike also gets a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, day/night modes, parking location, and other essential readouts such as the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, and gear position indicator.
As of now, Yamaha India hasn’t revealed the launch details of the R15M Carbon Edition yet, but it could take place in the next few weeks. This version is likely to be the most expensive R15 variant in India.
