India Yamaha Motors has unveiled the updated Ray ZR range ahead of its imminent launch. The updated range will benefit from a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster and Yamaha’s new hybrid power assist technology.
Similar to the existing range, the upcoming Ray ZR series will be available in two variants – Standard and Street Rally. The latter would get a separate set of graphics, different colours, few additional styling elements on the front apron and on the sides, and a pair of knuckle guards on the handlebar. The colour options for the Ray ZR Street Rally would include Matte Green and Matte Orange. The standard version, on the other hand, would be available in Racing Blue, Reddish Yellow Cocktail, Matte Red Metallic, Cyan Blue, and Metallic Black paint options.
The feature list on the updated models will include an apron-mounted LED headlight, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, and revised graphics across the body. The scooters will retain the tall-set DRL and a tinted fly-screen at the front. The hardware will be similar to the existing model, and the upcoming Ray ZR series will retain telescopic front forks and a single rear spring to handle the suspension tasks. The braking setup would comprise a disc at the front and a drum unit at the back.
Mechanical upgrades would include a 125cc, single-cylinder engine with a hybrid power assist feature. The updated engine produces 8.04bhp of power and 10.3Nm of peak torque. The 2020 model, for reference, delivered 8.04bhp and 9.7Nm of peak torque.
