Yamaha has unveiled a new variant of its middleweight adventure tourer motorcycle, the Tenere 700. Christened as the World Raid edition, this new Tenere 700 gets several updates over the standard model. Here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the new Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid edition is available in two colours – Icon Blue and Midnight Black.
While the overall silhouette remains similar to the standard Tenere 700, the World Raid edition gets a bigger fuel tank. The position of the tank, too, has been revised.
The World Raid edition features low-slung dual tanks that can contain seven more litres of fuel over the standard Tenere 700. The 23-litre fuel tank, which features dual filler caps, is claimed to deliver a range of over 500km.
Other changes to the World Raid edition include the addition of larger foot pegs, a more protective skid plate, a new radiator grille, improved wind protection, and a newly designed air cleaner box.
The cockpit includes a new, five-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. This vertically-stacked unit offers three different screen displays. It also features a roadbook style screen with countdown trip meters.
The saddle is a rally-inspired two-piece seat that features a flat design. It is aimed to allow the rider to move around easily when shifting bodyweight.
The updated suspension setup on the World Raid edition includes 43mm KYB front forks and an aluminum piggyback rear shock – both fully adjustable. The updated setup features a longer suspension travel than the standard motorcycle.
An Ohlins adjustable steering damper is also part of the package.
The anchoring system retains the 282mm dual rotors and a 245mm single disc from the standard model. Whereas the safety net includes three-level ABS.
The mechanical specifications on this new Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid retain the 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 72.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 68Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
