- New Tracer 9, GT revealed
- Gets bigger engine
- Lots of new features
Yamaha has pulled the wraps off its two new motorcycles – the Tracer 9 and the Tracer GT. These new bikes have received huge updates – mechanically as well as aesthetically.
Firstly, the engine on both these bikes have got bigger to 890cc, making it churn out 4bhp more. The peak torque comes in at just 1500rpm for a stronger midrange. The frame is new too, which is now lighter saving 1.7kgs. It is also stronger which means the passenger and luggage capacity has gone up by 7 per cent.
In terms of features, this new Yamaha now comes with new six-axis IMU, along with multi-level wheelie and slide control. There are other bits like cruise control, new fancier TFT instrument cluster and some more. The GT version gets fancier features like LED cornering lights, heated grips and quickshifter. There’s also an option of semi-active adjustable suspension on the Tracer GT.
These Yamaha bikes will hit European market in next two months. Unfortunately, these bikes won’t make its way to India anytime soon due to extremely less sales in the segment.
