- New Yamaha YZF R15 V4 reaches select dealerships
- Deliveries commence in certain regions
- Gets comprehensive updates over the previous model
The all-new Yamaha YZF R15 V4 has reached select dealerships in India while deliveries of the motorcycle have also commenced. The entry-level sportbike is available in five different colour variants, with some of them incorporating first-in-class features like traction control and quick shifter.
The prices of the new R15 V4 start at Rs 1,67,800 and go up to Rs 1,79,800 (both prices are ex-showroom), depending on the selected colour variant. As compared to the previous V3 iteration, the updated model is around Rs 10,000 more expensive. To justify that premium, it gets a host of updates.
The most prominent change has come in the styling department. The motorcycle now looks like a middle-weight supersport with a design inspired by the new YZF R7. There’s an LED projector lamp at the centre which is flanked by ferocious-looking thin LED DRL stripes. Even the fairing design is more muscular and angular. Yamaha has also added a new LCD which is Bluetooth-enabled and gives message, call, and email alerts. It also gets a street and a track mode.
Another major change is the replacement of telescopic forks up front with more premium upside down forks. At the rear, it continues to be suspended by a preload-adjustable monoshock. The R15 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are brought to a halt by a single disc brake at both ends. Powering the bike is the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with the Variable Valve Actuation system. It churns out 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
