- New spy images reveal the paint theme on the motorcycle
- Next-generation model to benefit from additional features
- Indian launch likely in the first half of 2024
The next-generation KTM 390 Duke is currently under development, and the sub-500cc roadster segment motorcycle has been spotted on several occasions in the past. This time, however, a photograph of this upcoming roadster motorcycle from inside the factory reveals new details.
What new details does the next-generation KTM 390 Duke spy image reveal?
For starters, the spy photograph reveals the new paint theme of the next-generation model. This motorcycle was spotted in a dual-tone paint finish, featuring a matte grey and glossy blue finish to the fuel tank, along with white and orange graphics. The spy picture also gives a glimpse at the revised chassis that the next-generation model will receive. Apart from these styling revisions, the leaked image further reveals the hardware of the next-generation model.
The WP-sourced front forks will be similar to the latest-generation RC 390 and 390 Adventure, and these will be adjustable for compression and rebound. Then, the rear will use an asymmetrically-mounted monoshock that will be adjustable as well. These, however, are likely to be limited to international-spec models. The India-bound version, similar to the existing 390-series motorcycles, will feature non-adjustable units. Another notable change comprises the repositioned front disc brake that now sits on the right side of the wheel.
What specifications will the next-generation KTM 390 Duke carry?
The engine casing and the exhaust route are noticeably different from the current-generation 390-series models. We may see a slight bump in displacement, although the details about this are not available yet. The current generation model, for reference, uses a 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 37Nm at 7,000rpm. This motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that benefits from a quick-shifter and slipper clutch mechanism.
Will the next-generation KTM 390 Duke get new features?
The feature list will also be revised, and the next-generation 390 Duke will benefit from additional electronics. Similar to the RC 390, the upcoming 390 Duke should also receive a traction control system and cornering ABS. Meanwhile, the next-generation model could retain existing features such as full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display from the current-generation motorcycle.
When can we expect to see the next-generation KTM 390 Duke in India?
The next-generation model should debut towards the end of this year, and the India launch could take place in the first half of 2024. The updated feature list will most likely push the prices higher substantially, and the next-generation KTM 390 Duke should arrive in the Rs. 3.25 lakh to Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
