- Next-generation KTM RC390 will get adjustable front forks
- Adjustable forks likely to be available for international-spec model only
- India launch likely in September 2021
KTM will soon introduce the next-generation RC series in the Indian and international markets. The range will include the heavily updated RC390 that has been revealed through leaked photographs. The images of the front forks reveal knobs to adjust setup. The feature, however, could be limited to the international-spec models. KTM already offers adjustable front forks on the international-spec 390 Adventure while the Indian model gets non-adjustable setup.
While the India-bound RC390 may not get adjustable front forks, we could see a bi-directional quickshifter on the motorcycle. KTM India currently offers a quickshifter on the 390 Duke and the 390 Adventure.
The next-generation KTM RC390 will get a complete makeover in the form of a single-pod LED headlight at the front, fairing integrated turn indicators, a sharper design, a newly designed tail section, and a bolted sub-frame. The feature list is likely to include full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
The outgoing RC390 already complied with the BS6 emission norms, and thus we do not expect to see any major changes to the mechanical specifications. The 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor on the outgoing version makes 42.9bhp and 35Nm of peak torque.
The next-generation KTM RC390 could carry a price premium over the outgoing model’s Rs 2.76 lakh (ex-showroom) tag. We expect the upcoming RC390 to retail closer to the Rs 3 lakh mark.
