- 2020 RC390 caught on test
- Gets new bodywork, bigger windscreen, larger fuel tank
- India debut likely in early 2020
KTM has begun testing the next generation RC390 on public roads. An early prototype of this small displacement supersport was captured on camera somewhere in Europe.
The major change that could be seen on this test mule is the new bodywork. The bike looks slightly bulkier, thanks to a bigger fuel tank and larger fairings. There’s also a large windscreen which is bound to improve wind protection. This Austrian bike is also likely to get a revised headlamp assembly. The sub-frame is marginally different from the current model.
The 2020 KTM RC390 is expected to get the full-TFT instrument cluster that is seen on the 390 Duke. Other than this, the bike is also expected to get a new suspension setup, new brakes and a powerful engine. The bike will definitely be Euro 5 compliant. With more power, it will go against the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the Yamaha R3.
We are expecting the production version of the 2020 RC390 to be shown at the 2019 EICMA. Just like the current model, the new RC390 will also be made in India and exported to the rest of the world.
