In order to curb increasing crime rate and make the city safer, the Noida police authorities have added 40 brand new Pulsar 220 motorcycles to their fleet.
These motorcycles have been equipped with sirens, megaphones and other equipment’s that will help the police perform their duties better. The value of each bike is estimated to be around Rs 1.25 lakh. The Pulsar 220 retails for Rs 90,000 and it is believed that an additional Rs 35,000 was spent to install the police equipment.
The motorcycles have being purchased and kept at Sector 39 based authority’s depot office. They will be handed over to Noida Police in the presence of the chairman and CEO of Noida Authority.
Security agencies across the country have begun using motorcycles like Royal Enfield’s, Suzuki Fieros, and Pulsars due to incresingly difficult traffic conditions. This usually gives them an edge over a cars to keep offenders in check.
