- To feature radar based Adaptive Cruise Control system
- Also get Blind Spot Detection system for enhanced safety
- Motorcycle to be revealed on 4 November
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Ducati has announced that the production of the Multistrada V4 has begun at the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale. The company also said in the press statement that the Multistrada V4 will be the first motorcycle to use front and rear radar technology. The new Multistrada V4 will be officially presented on 4 November 2020.
The new radar tech has been developed and produced in close cooperation with Bosch. Each radar has compact dimensions (70 x 60 x 28 mm), weighing only 190 grams. The radar in the front controls the operation of the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) while the rear radar detects and report vehicles positioned in the blind spot through the BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system.
The finer details about the motorcycle are scarce right now, although the company has confirmed that it will reveal the engine specifications on 15 October 2020. The press statement added that the fourth generation of the Multistrada will get a new, light and compact V4 engine that will come with record-breaking maintenance intervals.
The V4-powered ADV tourer will reportedly arrive in the American market by January 2021. While the company is yet to reveal the motorcycle, spy images have confirmed that the new Multistrada V4 will pack features like full-LED headlight with LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, a semi-fairing design with an adjustable windscreen, and an upswept exhaust.
