- Z650RS Anniversary Edition will be available in limited numbers
- Will feature a special, dual-tone paint theme
- Launch date unavailable yet
Kawasaki India has confirmed via its social media handles that it will soon launch the new Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition motorcycle to our market.
The company’s 50th Anniversary Edition models, which are already available in select international markets, include the Z650RS and the Z650RS. The company currently offers the Z650RS in India and thus we expect to see the 50th Anniversary Edition variant of this motorcycle here. The Z900RS, on the other hand, is not likely to arrive on our shores in the foreseeable future.
The new Kawasaki 50th Anniversary Edition motorcycles, which would be available in limited numbers, commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kawasaki Z1. The styling revision to the Z650RS Anniversary Edition includes the special ‘Firecracker Red’ paint scheme. The dual-tone colour scheme brings red and black paints to the motorcycle. The styling is further enhanced through golden-coloured rims. Do note that the Candy Emerald Green paint option, which is already available in the Indian market, uses golden coloured alloy wheels.
The changes, however, are limited to styling revisions. The feature list and the mechanical specifications, on the other hand, remain unaltered. Thus, the India-bound Z 650 RS 50th Anniversary Edition will retain the BS6-compliant 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 67.3bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,700rpm.
This variant of the Kawasaki Z650RS series is expected to retail at a relatively higher price tag than the standard versions. The standard Z650RS, for reference, is currently available for Rs 6.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
