KTM has announced via a teaser picture in its official Facebook that it will launch the Duke 390 ABS for the Indian market on June 25. The bike was previewed at the 2012 EICMA has already been spotted testing on numerous occasions near Pune. It is currently one of the most anticipated bikes in the Indian two-wheeler market.
The machine is powered by a 373c single-cylinder engine that produces power of 44bhp at 9500rpm and 35Nm of torque at 7250rpm. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox and has a dry weight of just 139kg, offering excellent power to weight ratio of 316bhp per tonne.
Once launched, it will be the first motorcycle in 350cc-400cc range to be sold officially in India. KTM has specially developed this motorcycle to bridge the gap between 200cc and 600cc –a category that is mainly targeted at developing markets like India. We are expecting this machine to be priced aggressively at around Rs two lakh as it shares components with its younger sibling, the Duke 200.
We are as excited about the Duke 390 ABS as everyone else and are eagerly awaiting the launch, so stay tuned to BikeWale for all the details from the launch on the 25th.
