After millions of spy shots and equal amount of speculations around the launch date, Bajaj has finally announced that the RC 200 and RC 390 motorcycles will go on sale in India starting September 9.
Based on the Duke 200 and Duke 390, the RC series will derive power from the same engines as their naked siblings. The smaller of the faired bike derives power from the 200cc single-cylinder unit producing 25bhp and 19Nm of torque, while the 390 uses the 372cc mill with an output of 43bhp and 35Nm of torque. Both engines deliver power to the rear wheel via six-speed gearbox with one-down five-up shift pattern.
Apart from stunning looks – courtesy well sculpted fairing and exposed tubular space frame, both these motorcycles will be equipped with twin-projector headlamps, monoshock rear suspension and clip-on handlebars. KTM is expected to charge a premium of around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 respectively over the Duke siblings. The RC 200 and RC 390 will be produced at Bajaj’s facility in Chakan and will also be exported to global markets soon.
Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on both these motorcycles and also live updates on pricing from the launch event in Pune.
