Aprilia India has commenced the pre-bookings for the upcoming SR 160 in our market ahead of its imminent launch. The company stated in its press announcement that the vehicle is available for booking on its official website. The vehicle, as reported earlier, has already started to arrive at the dealerships and we expect to hear a launch announcement very soon.
The leaked photographs of the scooter gave a detailed look at the updated front fascia of the Aprilia SR 160. The new model gets an LED headlight instead of the halogen unit on the old model. The new headlight design looks sharper and more appealing and should attract young buyers. The details about the instrument cluster are limited although we may see a Bluetooth-enabled console on the updated SR 160.
The fresher images that were clicked at the dealership reveal three colours for this upcoming scooter. The new SR 160 was seen in white, black, and race edition graphics.
We do not expect to see any major changes to the mechanical specifications as the SR 160 already complied with the BS6 emission norms. The 160.03cc, single-cylinder engine produces 10.84bhp of power and 11.6Nm of peak torque. The updated model should carry a price premium over the existing SR 160's Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom) tag.
