- Okinawa commences home delivery of electric scooters in Bangalore
- Will be replicated in other cities depending on the response
Okinawa, the Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced the commencement of home delivery of its e-scooters from 15 August 2020. As of now, the service will be available only in Bangalore and will be expanded to other cities depending on the response.
The company has been taking the necessary steps to avoid social distancing since the government started giving relaxations in the COVID-19 lockdown. It recently started taking online bookings for its electric scooters, which was followed by the announcement of gift vouchers of Rs 6,000 to mark Independence Day. The home delivery service is available free of cost which, Okinawa says, would involve minimum physical contact. The company has collaborated with its channel partners for the same.
Okinawa currently has seven electric scooters in its portfolio including the Raise, Ridge, Praise, i-Praise, Praise Pro, Lite and Ridge Plus. The company also plans to launch an electric motorcycle and a maxi e-scooter in the coming months. Notably, the latter was showcased at this year’s Auto Expo in February 2020.
