Okinawa is all set to take the wraps off its new maxi electric scooter, the Cruiser, at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company had also released a teaser of the Cruiser a couple of days back. Now, we have received information about the battery and performance of the scooter ahead of its official launch.
Our sources from the company have revealed that the Cruiser will have a top speed of 100kmph and a battery range of 120kms on a full charge. Moreover, the charging time of this battery will be around two-three hours. While the numbers may slightly vary in real world conditions, they still appear impressive on paper. To give you a perspective, the Bajaj Chetak electric has a top speed of 60kmph and a range of up to 95kms. Meanwhile, the same numbers for the recently-launched TVS iQube stand at 78kmph and 75kms, respectively.
The teaser image of the Cruiser had also revealed a quintessential maxi-scooter styling with a smooth flowing design, large windscreen, easy-to-reach handlebar, a roomy seat and a sleek and long tail section. It also looks to have a conventional maxi scooter-like provision for resting feet comfortably. Furthermore, expect it to come with a comprehensive list of features such as full-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster with a host of information.
There’s no information about its pricing yet. However, looking at the performance and range figures, it will certainly be more expensive than Okinawa’s current flagship model, the i-Praise which retails at Rs 1.08 lakhs (ex-showroom). For more details about the Cruiser, we’ll have to wait until its official launch at the 2020 Auto Expo.
