Okinawa has dropped the prices of its electric scooters. The price drop comes as a result of the new amendments in the FAME ll policy. In order to qualify for the subsidy, the electric scooters have to meet a few criteria's set under the FAME II policy. The given criteria's state that the electric scooter should have a minimum top speed of 40kmph and a minimum range of 80km. According to the policy, buyers will get a subsidy of Rs 15,000/kWh. The new reduced prices of the electric scooters have come into effect from 11 June 2021. Mentioned below are the latest ex-showroom prices along with the total reduction.
The least price drop of Rs 7,209 is seen on the Ridge plus electric scooter which comes with a riding range of 84km. While the Praise Pro electric scooter has witnessed a price drop of Rs 7,947 and it comes with a range of 88km. Both these electric scooters offer three years of warranty for the battery and the motor.
In the Okinawa lineup, the iPraise Plus has witnessed the highest price drop of Rs 17,892. The iPraise Plus is a sharp and stylish looking electric scooter which gets graphics all across its body. It further comes with features like all LED lights, DRL at the front, keyless entry, Okinawa eco app, reverse mode, remote immobilisation, seven-litre boot space and adjustable brake lever.
It's powered by a 3.3kWh detachable Lithium-ion battery that delivers top speed of 58kmph and requires four to five hours to fully charge. The claimed riding range of the scooter is 139km and is propelled by a BLDC motor that delivers 2500W of maximum power.
