- Okinawa e-scooters get upto Rs 20,000 subsidy in Gujarat

The electric two-wheeler market in India witnessed huge price revisions after the FAME II subsidy was announced in early June. Okinawa Autotech also slashed the prices of its offerings- the Ridge Plus, Praise Pro and iPraise Plus by a significant amount.
And now, with the Gujarat government announcing additional subsidies for electric two-wheelers, the prices of the Okinawa e-scooter range has been lowered further in the state. The most-affordable model- the Ridge Plus which is priced at Rs 61,791 gets a Rs 17,400 incentive and is now priced at Rs 44,391. The Praise Pro costs Rs 57,848 after receiving a Rs 19,000 subsidy whereas the top-of-the-line iPraise Plus gets a Rs 20,000 subsidy from the state government and now costs Rs 79,708. Okinawa has also announced that it is in process of setting up a new manufacturing facility in Rajasthan, near its existing facility. With the recent subsidies and increase in interest for EVs, the company is also aiming to increase its dealership base by 50 per cent by March 2022.
