Okinawa has finally launched their new electric two-wheeler, the Praise for the Indian market. Priced at Rs 59,889 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Praise is Okinawa’s most expensive scooter in the country.
The company is positioning the Praise as a premium EV. So it has focused a lot on design and features for this scooter. The Praise sports an LED headlamp which is flanked by LED DRLs (daytime running lamps). The turn indicators have been integrated on the steering unit.
The Praise scooter draws its power from a 72V/ 45Ah battery which is being offered in VRLA type and Lithium-ion batteries configuration. The former variant takes around six-eight hours to charge, whereas the latter takes only one hour. The company claims that the Praise EV can be ridden up to 200 kilometres in a single charge. But this also depends on the three modes the rider is using. The Economy mode limits the speed to 35kmph, Sport mode gives a top speed of 65kmph and the Turbo made gives it a top speed of 75kmph.
In terms of features, the Praise is equipped with some really interesting ones. The scooter gets dual disc brakes at the front, a segment first and also get a disc brake at the rear. The scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Other features like side-stand indicator, anti-theft sensor, keyless entry, find-my scooter are also offered with the Praise.
The bookings for the Okinawa Praise had already begun last month for a token amount of Rs 2000. The company is providing easy EMI options through HDFC bank for the Praise e-scooter.
