Okinawa has launched its new electric scooter, the Ridge+ in India. The scooter is powered by a lithium-ion battery and is available in two colour options including lucent orange/magna grey and midnight blue. Priced at Rs 64,998 (ex-showroom, India), the Ridge+ is about Rs 21,000 more expensive than the standard Ridge which costs Rs 43,702 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
This is the first scooter in Okinawa’s lineup which incorporates lithium-ion battery. It is an 800 watt, water proof unit which is claimed to deliver the range of 120km in a single charge. The top speed is claimed at 55kmph. The Okinawa Praise and Ridge, on the other hand, are powered by lead acid battery.
In terms of styling, the Ridge+ boasts of aesthetics similar to that of the standard Ridge. It gets various features such as keyless entry and central locking along with safety nets including anti-theft alarm and e-ABS. Moreover, it also integrates Find My Scooter feature to track the scooter’s position from a distance.
The company initially plans to roll out its first batch of 500 Ridge+ scooters across a few states. By November, 1500 more units will be available at the authorised dealerships across India.
