Electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Okinawa has announced that it has sold over 1,000 e-scooters within a month since the brand resumed operations.
The company resumed retail operations post the government relaxing rules on the economic activities. The company further added in its press announcement that it achieved the sale figure with 60-70% touchpoints operational. Okinawa has over 350 dealers in India. The manufacturer partially resumed operations across dealerships on 11 May 2020 with 25 percent workforce and strict safety measures.
To ensure the safety of the customers, all the products are sanitised before getting dispatched from the assembly at the manufacturing unit. Dealer partners also sanitise the vehicle on arrival. Moreover, a proper thermal screening is conducted at all the dealerships, as per the advisory issued by the company.
Okinawa now plans to accelerate its marketing activities to spread the awareness about electric vehicle adoption. The company also announced a hike in dealer margin from eight percent to 11 percent to enable its dealer network to make more profits.
