- Okinawa to showcase a new electric scooter concept at the 2020 Auto Expo
- Teaser images shows a maxi scooter styling
- `Production version could be launched next year
Okinawa Scooters, a Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler company, is gearing up to showcase a new electric scooter concept named ‘Cruiser’ at the 2020 Auto Expo. Ahead of the motor show, the manufacturer has now sent out a teaser image of the scooter.
As can be interpreted from its name and the teaser image, the Cruiser will be a maxi scooter featuring a design similar to the Suzuki Burgman Street 125. It will get a huge front apron integrating sleek turn indicators, headlamp and a large windscreen. The image also shows a pulled-back handlebar, a long stepped seat and a sleek tail section.
The company hasn’t revealed any further details about the scooter. However, in terms of battery range and performance, we expect the production version to be on par with the brand’s top-spec i-Praise. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery which delivers a range of around 160km along with a top speed of up to 70kmph. The maxi-scooter will also be equipped with modern features such as full-LED headlamp, fully-digital instrument along with other convenience and safety features.
Okinawa will perhaps gauge the audience’s response for the Cruiser concept at this Expo and will launch its production version next year. In other news, as we had reported earlier, Okinawa will launch an electric motorcycle, the Oki100, at this year’s Expo which was revealed in its concept form at the 2018 edition of the Auto Expo.
