- Ola Electric scooters for December delivery batch dispatched
- Some scooters undergoing RTO process and others in transit
- Registration process took longer than anticipated
Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has announced on social media that all scooters that were scheduled to be delivered in December have been dispatched. While most of these electric scooters have reached delivery centres and are undergoing the RTO process, others are in transit. The top honcho also confessed that the registration process took longer than they had anticipated.
Ola Electric has been in the news quite frequently for a while, at times for its ambitious plans and for certain setbacks as well. For instance, the CEO’s tweet making the aforementioned announcement was accompanied by a bunch of replies from its enraged customers. A number of people have been complaining that the Ola application is still showing that their respective electric scooters are being readied, although the estimated delivery timeline is from 15 December to 31 December, 2021.
The company had planned to start deliveries from October but certain challenges along the way pushed it to 15 January. And when the deliveries began to take place, the company bumped into new issues. The customers who got their scooter delivered complained either about strange noises emanating from its components or the scooter not delivering the claimed battery range. A customer also tweeted about receiving a scooter with minor damages.
At present, Ola Electric has been facing a host of issues related to production, an online report revealed. Now, it remains to be seen how things pan out for the brand in the year 2022. Ola Electric has two e-scooters in its portfolio – S1 and S1 Pro that are priced at Rs 85,099 and Rs 1,10,149, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom).
