Ola Electric has been busy working on expanding its product portfolio in the country. After dominating the electric scooter market, the company has already announced its plans to launch electric motorcycles. In the run up to these launches, Ola has teased the battery pack of the motorcycle.
The said battery pack is housed inside a steel tube frame, located where you’d normally find an ICE in a conventional, petrol-powered motorcycle. Interestingly, the battery pack doesn’t appear to be excessively large and that should translate to a lower weight. That should have a positive bearing on the handling dynamics of the motorcycle as well. Weight distribution, afterall, is one of the biggest concerns while developing electric motorcycles.
Ola is also likely to be developing a battery pack that is quite energy dense and is said to be exploring newer battery chemistries and technologies in the pursuit of offering more range without the need to develop a very large and heavy battery pack. It’ll be interesting to see what Ola comes up with once the electric motorcycles are launched.
Other details that are visible include a downtube cradle style frame that has brackets to enclose the battery pack. One can also see the battery management system, the seat and the front sprocket. Ola seems to be mindful about the cost of components while putting the bike together. That should indicate competitive pricing.
The Ola motorcycles are expected to be delivered from 2026 onwards.. The company has already displayed four concepts- Diamondhead, Roadster, Adventure, and Cruiser.
