-Fresh details emerge
-Could have a clutch lever and gearbox like the Matter Aera
-Unveil on 15 August
Ola Electric is gearing up for the launch of its first ever electric motorcycle. The company has been releasing a number of teasers in the run up to the unveil on 15 August. This new teaser image reveals a few more details.
While much of the front end of the bike is pixelated on can see the LED indicators and the tank extensions that stretch beyond the fork. However, what is interesting is the presence of a lever on the left side of the handlebar.
It is unclear whether it is a rear brake lever, as is the norm in scooters like the Ola S1. The other theory is that it could be a clutch lever to operate a gearbox. We’ve seen the Matter Aera electric motorcycle feature a four-speed gearbox. Ola, perhaps, could’ve added a gearbox to its first electric motorcycle. We shall get confirmation about the same towards the time of the unveiling.
Other details that are visible include rear LED turn indicators, split grab rails for the pillion and black alloy wheels with rim stripes.
The Ola electric motorcycle is expected to have a sporty design, however, the riding position suggests it is a sporty commuter and not an out and out sports bike, like the Ultraviolette F77. Expect to see a big battery with range well north of 100km. Even the top speed should be in the vicinity of 140kmph if not more. Ola is also expected to throw in a number of features, including TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
The new Ola electric motorcycle will go up against the Tork Kratos and Oben Rorr.
