- Ola Electric scooters sales postponed
- Official website witnesses technical glitch
- Sales to commence from 15 September now
Ola Electric has postponed the commencement of the sale of its S1 and S1 Pro offerings in India owing to a technical glitch. As we had told you, the company had scheduled to begin the online sales of its electric scooters on 8 September. However, the company CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, sent out a letter on the said date day, apologising for the delay and mentioning technical fault as the reason for the same. He also stated that the new date for the sale to begin is 15 September, at 8 AM.
In spite of the change in schedule, the process for the sale will remain unchanged. People who have booked one of the electric scooters will get to purchase it as per their booking sequence and deliveries too will be carried out in the same format. The overall process of buying and financing will be completely digital, without any involvement of paperwork. Ola has been accepting online pre-bookings for the e-scooters at Rs 499 since July this year.
The Ola S1 and S1 Pro are generously equipped with modern features like a touch-screen display, full-LED lighting, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, keyless operations, and a bunch of other goodies. However, the S1 Pro gets additional features like a hill-hold system and cruise control. There’s a difference in their battery range and top speed as well. These figures are rated at 181km and 115kmph, respectively, for the top-spec Pro trim. Moreover, while the S1 is available only in five colour options, the S1 Pro buyers get a choice of 10 paint schemes.
