- Ola Electric scooters to be available for purchase; starting today
- Official launch took place last month
- Reservations open for Rs 499
The official sale of the Ola Electric scooters will commence in India today, 8 September, about a month after their launch took place. The company entered the Indian electric two-wheeler market with two e-scooters – S1 and S1 Pro with their prices starting from Rs 99,999. Notably, the company had started accepting pre-bookings for the scooters at a nominal sum of Rs 499 back in July this year.
While the Ola S1 base variant costs Rs 99,999, its higher-spec Pro trim sets you back by Rs 1,29,999. However, thanks to the new FAME II policy and state-level subsidies being in place, these scooters are considerably cheaper in select states. For instance, the Ola S1 costs Rs 79,999 only in Gujarat, owing to the hefty incentives being provided by the state. The state-wise prices of the Ola electric scooters are mentioned in the below table.
The main differentiating factors of the Ola S1 and S1 Pro are their rated top speed and battery range. While the former runs for about 121km on a full charge, the latter delivers a battery backup of around 181km. Even the top speed of the Pro model is higher at 115kmph, as opposed to the standard model’s 90kmph top speed. Both scooters are generously equipped with electronic wizardry, with the Pro trim being a notch above. The buyers also get a wide array of colour options to choose from.
