- Ola Electric remains the leader in EV sales
- TVS scores the second spot
- Notable decrease compared to May 2023 figures
The electric two-wheeler industry in India recently witnessed some crucial changes as the government revised the FAME II subsidy and decreased the amount by a substantial margin. This also led to a drop in the sales figures and here’s what June was like for some of the major EV brands.
While the June EV sales were more than 56 percent low compared to May, it’s still better than June 2022. Amidst the slowdown, Ola Electric continues to trump the sales chart with 17,585 units sold followed by TVS selling 7,791 units of the iQube. The third spot has been secured by Ather with 4,551 buyers for the 450X range.
Currently, Ola has three scooters in its portfolio. It comprises the S1 Pro, S1 and S1 Air. While the S1 Air is listed on the company’s website, it’s yet to debut and we expect the brand to do sometime around this month then Ola could have a few tricks up its sleeves for August as well. The asking price for the Ola S1 Pro is set at Rs. 1,39,999 whereas the S1 and S1 Air retail at Rs. 1,29,999 and Rs. 1,09,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) respectively.
Meanwhile, TVS has iQube and iQube S while Ather currently sells the 450X. That said, Ather too is set to unveil a new model, dubbed the 450S in August. It’ll be the most affordable Ather electric scooter in India.
