- Gets lower battery range, top-speed
- Lower part of the rear panel gets black finish
- Priced at Rs 79,999
Ola Electric has updated its product portfolio with the launch of its most affordable model, the S1 Air. This new version of the S1 series is available in five colours in the Indian market. These include Jet Black, Coral Glam, Liquid Silver, Porcelain White, and Neo Mint colours. While the colour palette is similar to the S1, the Air variant features a different wheel design, a single-piece pillion grabrail instead of a two-piece unit on the S1 and the S1 Pro versions, and a black finish to the lower part of the rear panel.
The hardware and specifications, too, are toned down and the S1 Air uses a 2.5kWh battery pack that comes with an IDC range of 101km. The Air version is powered by a 4.5kW hub-mounted motor that is claimed to achieve a 0-40kmph acceleration in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 90kmph. The S1 Air and S1 get three ride modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport – and both variants miss the Hyper mode that is only available on the Pro variant.
The braking and suspension setup further distinguish the new S1 Air variant from the existing S1 and S1 Pro models. The anchoring setup on the S1 Air variant comprises drum units on both wheels. The shock absorption duties are handled by conventional telescopic front forks and twin springs at the back.
All of these changes have allowed Ola Electric to price this e-scooter competitively and it is available at Rs 79,999. In comparison, the S1 and the S1 Pro are available at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,39,999, respectively.
