- Ola S1 Air to get a hub-mounted motor
- Features conventional telescopic forks
- Gets drum brakes at both ends
Ola recently launched the more-affordable S1 Air electric scooter in India. Now, a test mule of the Ola S1 Air with a hub-mounted motor has been spotted testing in the country. The spotting of the test prototype indicates that deliveries of the S1 Air will commence soon.
Besides the hub-mounted motor, the S1 Air electric scooter also sports a drum brake at the front and back. The Ola S1 Air features conventional telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the back. Unlike the S1 Pro, the S1 Air doesn’t get paint work on the full body, instead, it features a few blacked-out parts, which offer a dual-tone look to the scooter.
The Ola S1 Air is currently available only in a single 3kWh battery pack variant, while the 2kWh and 4kWh variants introduced during the launch have been discontinued. The scooter offers an IDC-certified range of 125km and a top speed of 85kph.
The S1 Air draws power from a 4.5kW electric motor and comes equipped with three ride modes – Eco, Normal, and Sports. The scooter is priced at Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The S1 Air misses out on some fancy features like cruise control, Hyper mode, and fast charging, but it does come equipped with twin projector LED headlights, a seven-inch touchscreen display, GPS navigation, OTA updates, music control and more.
