- To be updated with a 4.5kW motor
- Original model was powered by a 2.7kW unit
- Will be powered by a 3kWh battery
Ola Electric has announced another tweak for the S1 Air before its launch, slated for the next month. The brand has announced a larger motor for its most affordable scooter, and it has already been updated on Ola Electric’s website.
Originally, the S1 Air was introduced with a 2.7kW motor but Ola will now offer a 4.5kW unit as well. Going by the current specifications on the brand’s website, we expect Ola to offer customers an option to choose from either. Then, the scooter be powered by a 3kWh battery since the brand recently discontinued the 2kWh and 4kWh battery options that it had announced back in February.
With the introduction of a larger motor, the asking price of the S1 Air could also be increased. Currently, it’s priced at Rs. 1,09,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Apart from that, it looks quite similar to the S1 and S1 Pro. The Air features the same twin projector LED headlights with an LED DRL and also shares the bodywork with its siblings. However, it gets different hardware than its twins. The S1 Air rides on conventional telescopic front forks and rear springs, while the other two get a monoshock at both ends.
Ola has also equipped the scooter with a front and rear drum brake instead of a disc setup for cost-cutting. The S1 Air is claimed to offer 85kmph of top speed and 125km of range in its original setup. But with the new motor, the performance could be enhanced as well.
