- Deliveries to start in October 2021
- Sales open on Ola app only
- Registered buyers to pay an advance of Rs 20,000
Ola Electric has commenced the sales of the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters in the Indian market. Do note that the sales have commenced on the company’s app only, and not on their website. Ola is prioritising users based on their dates of reservation. Buyers would have to pay an advance of Rs 20,000. Others who have not reserved the electric scooters can do so by paying Rs 499 on the company’s app.
The sales were previously scheduled to commence on 8 September, 2021 although a technical glitch caused the company to postpone the dates. Ola Electric had announced the prices for the S1 and S1 Pro on 15 August, 2021. The base model has been priced at Rs 99,999 while the Pro variant is available at Rs 1,29,999 (both ex-showroom). The deliveries will begin in October 2021, although the company has not stated an exact date. Ola Electric will start delivering across 1,000 cities and towns in India.
To give you a quick recap, the S1 is available in five colours while the Pro version is listed in 10 paint options. The base model comes with a relatively lower top speed and range than the Pro variant. The S1 boasts a top speed of 90kmph and promises a range of 121km per charge. The Pro variant is claimed to achieve a top speed of 115kmph and it boasts a range of 181km per charge.
The Ola S1 electric scooters will compete against the Ather 450, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Simple One in the Indian market.
