Ola Electric has announced the launch of the S1 series in the Indian market with prices starting from Rs 99,999 onwards. The electric scooter will be available in two variants, S1 and S1 Pro. Here we explain the key differences between the two variants.
Performance
While the peak power output and maximum torque figures are similar on both variants, the top speed and 0-40kmph acceleration timing are better on the S1 Pro. The base model boasts a top speed of 90kmph and a 0-40kmph acceleration in 3.6 seconds. The Pro variant, on the other hand, can achieve a top speed of 115kmph and a 0-40kmph acceleration timing of three seconds.
Riding Modes
The base version of the S1 range gets two riding modes (Normal and Sport) while the S1 Pro variant features three modes (Normal, Sport, and Hyper).
Battery Capacity, Range, and Charging Time
The battery capacities of the S1 and the S1 Pro are rated at 2.98kW and 3.97kW, respectively. The base model comes with a range of 121km while the Pro version can cover 181km per charge. Both variants come with a fixed battery type. The home charging time for the base model stands at four hours and 48 minutes while the Pro variant takes six hours and 30 minutes to fully recharge. Ola fast chargers can recharge the battery pack for a range of 75km in 18 minutes.
Technology
Standard features on the new Ola S1 and the S1 Pro include keyless operations, proximity lock, remote boot lock, call alert, message alert, infotainment system, built-in speakers, side-stand alert, anti-theft alert, geo-fencing, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, onboard navigation, limp home mode, reverse mode, get home mode, take-me-home lights, find my scooter, HMI moods with sound, electronic steering lock, HMI brightness adjuster, welcome screen, OTA updates, manual SOS, and predictive maintenance. The S1 Pro further benefits from three additional features over the base model – hill-hold system, cruise control, and voice assist technology.
Design and Standard Features
The list of common features on both variants include full-LED lighting, a touch-screen display, Ola’s self-developed MoveOS system, a mono-shock at the front, a horizontally-mounted rear mono-shock, disc brakes on both wheels, and a combined braking system. The styling cues on both variants include a minimalistic design, twin-pod headlight with LED DRL, apron-mounted front indicators, a 36-litre under-seat storage space, two-piece pillion grab rail, and curvy body panels.
Prices
The new Ola S1 has been priced at Rs 99,999 while the S1 Pro is available for Rs 1,29,999. These prices include the FAME-II subsidy benefits. Colous
The base variant of the Ola S1 series will be available in five colour options while the S1 Pro has been listed in 10 paint choices. The colours would feature satin, matte, and glossy finishes.
