- S1 variant removed from the official website
- S1 Air is officially the most affordable variant now
- Only S1 Air and S1 Pro are currently available
Ola Electric has discontinued the S1 variant from its e-scooter lineup. The model has been delisted, thereby leaving only S1 Air and S1 Pro on the brand’s official website. The Ola S1’s last known asking price was Rs. 1,29,999 (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru), which made it Rs. 20,000 more expensive than the S1 Air’s introductory price of Rs. 1,09,000 and Rs. 10,000 cheaper than the S1 Pro.
While Ola officials have refused to give an official comment on this, we think the S1 has been discontinued because the price difference between it and the newly launched S1 Air is marginal. However, existing S1 customers will still avail of the services for their vehicles.
The S1 was the mid variant in Ola Electric’s current lineup. It was powered by a 3kWh battery linked to a 5.5kW motor and got a top speed of 95kmph with a maximum range of 141km. Moreover, it featured the same hardware as the S1 Pro in the form of a monoshock at both ends and a single disc as well. The S1 featured LED illumination, a Bluetooth-enabled seven-inch colour TFT display, three ride modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), side stand alert, reverse mode, and a combined braking system.
As of now, the S1 Air marks itself as the entry-level model in Ola’s portfolio. Its current price of Rs. 1.09 lakh will be hiked by Rs. 10,000 from 31 July, that is today. Interested buyers can purchase it from Ola’s official site.
