The Indian electric two-wheeler market has been growing gradually over the last few years. Manufacturers are launching new products as well as updating their existing products. TVS recently introduced the iQube S and ST in India and Ola too recently launched the Move OS2 update for the S1 Pro. So, let’s compare the two flagship EVs on paper.
Design
The Ola S1 Pro gets a very curvy bodywork. The fascia looks quite futuristic and the overall design appears bulbous but proportionate. It gets twin projector LED bulbs with an LED bezel around. On the other hand, the TVS iQube carries a more conventional scooter design. It sports LED illumination with an apron-mounted headlight and a small visor on the handlebar cowl.
Features
Both scooters are loaded with features. Along with LED illumination, the Ola S1 Pro is equipped with navigation, riding modes, cruise control, keyless operation, music playback, odometer, trip meter, and smartphone connectivity which allows you to access the scooter from your phone. All these features can be accessed from its touchscreen TFT screen. The TVS iQube ST packs a TFT screen with GPS, ride modes, geo-fencing, smartphone connectivity, and OTA updates.
Battery and Motor
The Ola S1 Pro is powered by an 8.5kW (peak power) motor which is mated to a 3.97kWh battery. Ola claims a top speed of 115kmph and a maximum range of 181km (eco) mode in ideal conditions. The TVS iQube features a 4.56kWh battery along with a 4.4kW motor. It gets a claimed range of 145km in one full charge.
Hardware
For its suspension setup, the Ola S1 Pro gets a single-sided front fork and a monoshock. The braking hardware comprises a single disc at both ends with CBS. Ola is yet to update the S1 Pro with regenerative braking. TVS has equipped the iQube ST with telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear shock. Its braking hardware consists of a front disc and rear drum brake with CBS and regenerative braking. Both e-scooters ride on 12-inch wheels.
Price
Ola has priced the S1 Pro at Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). However, TVS is yet to reveal the iQube ST’s pricing very soon. The iQube and iQube ST retail at Rs 1,12,230 and Rs 1,20,183 (both on-road Bengaluru, including FAME II subsidy), respectively. So, you can expect the ST to cost a few thousand rupees more than the standard and S models.
