Simple Energy, a Bangalore-based company has launched their first electric scooter in India called the One. The scooter is priced at Rs 1.09 lakh and competes against the Ola S1 that was also launched in the country today.
The electric scooter uses a 4.8kWh battery pack and offers 4.5kW of power and 72Nm of peak torque. The motor is capable of propelling the Simple One to a top speed of 105kmph and offers a claimed range of 203kms in Eco mode and 236kms in IDC. However, the most interesting bit is that the Simple One uses a chain drive unlike other electric scooters in the market.
As for features, Simple Energy has equipped the One with a 7-inch TFT screen that offers a host of info like onboard navigation, music, and call controls. The e-scooter also gets geo-fencing, find my bike, tire pressure monitoring system, and some more. It rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends with suspension duties carried out by telescopic forks and monoshock.
Braking on the other hand is done by a 200mm disc brake at the front and a 190mm disc at the rear. The Simple One boasts of a 30-litre boot space and a low kerb weight of 110kg. Simple Energy is offering the electric scooter in four colours- blue, red, white, and black. With bookings for the scooter begun on the official website, deliveries are expected to commence in the next couple of months.
