- To setup 5,000 charging points in the first year
- Fast chargers to recharge Ola scooters to 50 per cent in 18 minutes
- Charging progress displayed through the Ola Electric app
Ola Electric has announced its plans for providing charging solutions to all its electric two wheeler customers. Christened as the Ola Hypercharger Network, the charging network will be spread across the country. The company aims to setup more than 100,000 charging points across 400 cities in India. In the first year, Ola plans to setup over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in India.
The Ola Hypercharger is claimed to be the fastest two wheeler charging network. The two-wheeler maker claims that the upcoming Ola Scooter can be charged to 50 per cent in just 18 minutes for a 75km range. Ola Hyperchargers will be located in city centers and dense business districts. Customers can monitor the charging progress through the Ola Electric app. The same app can be used to pay for the charging.
Apart from the Ola Hypercharger network, the company will also offer a home charger that will be bundled with the Ola Scooter. The fast charging network, along with the home charger, should address the range anxiety issue of the buyers.
The company added in its press statement that the upcoming Ola Scooter, which is manufactured in Tamil Nadu, India, will be ready this summer.
