- Mumbai pumps likely to stop serving regular vehicles
- Only essential vehicles will be able to fuel up
Petrol pumps in Mumbai are likely to shut fuel supply to the citizens of the city. According to a report, the government officials have approached some petrol pump owners in the city and asked them to serve mainly essential and emergency service vehicles.
This step is being taken to avoid people travelling within the city and also to other districts in order to stop the spread of coronavirus. As of now, the entire country is in lockdown situation and it will continue till 14 April. The Prime Minister of India took this drastic step to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
Currently, the petrol pump owners are facing issues identifying essential service vehicles and have asked for police force to be deployed. Through this route, the petrol pump will be able to serve such vehicles efficiently as the pumps are facing shortage of staff.
