Piaggio has confirmed that they will not manufacture or sell a fibre-bodied Vespa LX 125. Earlier there had been reports suggesting that the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer will be launching a fibre-bodied Vespa LX 125 for the Indian market, in an attempt to slash the price of the LX 125. The company had previously slashed the price of the Vespa from Rs 66,000 to Rs 59,960 in early January.
Piaggio had launched this scooter in the Indian market last year at Rs 66,000 which made it the most expensive 125cc scooter. This retro looking two-wheeler was marketed as a lifestyle scooter in India. The LX 125 is powered by 125cc air cooled engine which develops 9.92bhp of power at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6000rpm. The scooter is offered with six colour options which make it look young and refreshing.
