Piaggio India has taken three Vespa products off its official website – the LX 125, VX 125 and the S 125. This could be a result of the new products, the VXL and the SXL that was launched a few days ago.
During its debut two years ago, the Vespa LX 125 was the most expensive scooter sold in India. However, this tag was later taken over by its disc brake sibling – the VX 125, which was later given to the S version.
The Vespa SXL and the VXL scotoers were launched in two engine configurations – 125cc and the 150cc. The VXL125 and the SXL125 gets wider tyres, new colours and digital instrument cluster, which looks pretty decent on these new models. Due to this, the older models don’t look like a tempting proposition and eventually, the models will fail to attract audience. For the same reason, we think the Italian manufacturer will stop producing the older versions to push the new models into the market.
Most of the dealers have the older versions in stock, but confirmed that only the new versions will be sold in future. With this development, the most affordable Vespa one can buy is the VXL, which is priced at RS 77,308 (ex-showroom Pune).
